Skin Detection using Histogram depend on the Mean Shift Algorithm

چکیده
In this paper, we were introduces a skin detection method using a histogram approximation based on the mean shift algorithm. The proposed method applies the mean shift procedure to a histogram of a skin map of the input image, generated by comparison with standard skin colors in the CbCr color space, and divides the background from the skin region by selecting the maximum value according to brightness level. The proposed method detects the skin region using the mean shift procedure to determine a maximum value that becomes the dividing point, rather than using a manually selected threshold value, as in existing techniques. Even when skin color is contaminated by illumination, the procedure can accurately segment the skin region and the background region. The proposed method may be useful in detecting facial regions as a pretreatment for face recognition in various types of illumination. Keywords—Skin region detection, mean shift, histogram approximation.

Applying mean shift and motion detection approaches to hand tracking in sign language
Hand gesture recognition is very important to communicate in sign language. In this paper, an effective object tracking and hand gesture recognition method is proposed. This method is combination of two well-known approaches, the mean shift and the motion detection algorithm. The mean shift algorithm can track objects based on the color, then when hand passes the face occlusion happens. Several...

متن کاملAutomatic nevi segmentation using adaptive mean shift filters and feature analysis
A novel automatic method of segmenting nevi is explained and analyzed in this paper. The first step in nevi segmentation is to iteratively apply an adaptive mean shift filter to form clusters in the image and to remove noise. The goal of this step is to remove differences in skin intensity and hairs from the image, while still preserving the shape of nevi present on the skin. Each iteration of ...
متن کاملA New Algorithm for Skin Lesion Border Detection in Dermoscopy Images
Background: With advances in medical imaging systems, digital dermoscopy has become one of the major imaging modalities in the analysis of skin lesions. Thus, automated segmentation or border detection has a great impact on the subsequent steps of skin cancer computer-aided diagnosis using demoscopy images. Since dermoscopy images suffer from artifacts such as shading and hair, there is a need ...
متن کاملUsing a Novel Concept of Potential Pixel Energy for Object Tracking
Abstract In this paper, we propose a new method for kernel based object tracking which tracks the complete non rigid object. Definition the union image blob and mapping it to a new representation which we named as potential pixels matrix are the main part of tracking algorithm. The union image blob is constructed by expanding the previous object region based on the histogram feature. The pote...
